Rebecca & Tyler McKee own and run McKee Equestrian, both are highly successful competitors with extensive experience in producing top level horses in various disciplines. They are happy to share their wealth of knowledge, giving lessons, breaking in and schooling horses for clients. Rebecca has previously ridden Show Horses, Show Jumpers and Eventers. She has been very successful in the show ring, bringing home many Supreme and HOY titles, her most notable horses being Southwell Rendevouz and Kinsella Razi, both of whom were produced by Rebecca and are HOY winners.
Over the last few year’s Rebecca’s focus has moved from showing to dressage. Her current horses are Solo, a 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood and FIS Get Smart, a 6-year-old Warmblood. Solo has had a very successful competitive career, he is the 2018 Level 4 HOY Dressage Champion. This season Solo is competing in Level 5, he has been champion at all regional shows attended in the 2018/19 season and has won the 2018 South Island Level 5 Fibre Fresh Series, the South Island Final and the South Island Zilco Musical Level 5 Series. Rebecca and Solo are aiming to have their first Prix St-George start in April. FIS Get Smart is in his first competitive season under saddle, competing in Level 1. He was 2nd in the South Island Vetpro Level 1 series with Rebecca is aiming to start him in Level 3 next season.
Tyler has always ridden Show horses but has been focused on Show Jumping for a few years now. He rode in Holland for three years, riding stallions and competing them for a stable. He has ridden a few show horses for people over the last few years, winning multi Supremes and HOY titles.
Tyler’s current horses are Lumarzo a 10-year-old Warmblood x TB, who is consistently up in the placings, often winning 1.20m-1.30m classes and who is ready to move up to Mini Prix. Stratos, a 7-year-old, Warmblood x TB, who is currently the South Island FEI series winner. Stratos is competing in 1.20-1.30m classes and has had a few 7-year-old series starts at 1.30m with placings, Tyler is looking forward to starting her in Mini Prix when she’s ready. Corrida, a 5-year-old Warmblood x TB in his first season under saddle, jumping 1.10m, and who has a few level 2 Dressage starts for placings. Tyler will continue to develop his dressage and is happy to stay around 1.10m giving him time to develop properly.
