At first I wasn’t a fan of the supplement and decided I wouldn’t order it again - only because the dose was so high. Both my girls weigh 40Kg and only get fed once a day, so the recommended dosage would have resulted in more powder than food in their bowls! I settled for feeding them 4 teaspoons every day in their meal until it was gone. The supplement is still economical, despite the high dosage, it was more the having to stir the powder through into their dinner to hide it all which annoyed me. Now, I did notice some reduction in my 9 year old wolfhound x’s back stiffness and my 5 year old boxer x’s lameness from an old paw injury. But this wasn’t a dramatic difference as they had long been on a joint supplement, as well as turmeric golden paste, prior to going on the Stay Active. What I wasn’t expecting, and which was a pleasant surprise, was all the other effects! Both dogs were itching like crazy when they started as both get seasonal allergies from October through to February. Within 2 weeks, both stopped itching and the allergy season passed without further drama. In addition, my old wolfhound x girl, who has been prone to a dodgy tummy all her life, started doing the most amazingly perfect poos. Her tummy stopped feeling bloated and gurgling at times (I think this is something that she usually gets when stressed). And she had so much energy like she was a puppy again. Although I noticed these changes, by the time by supply ran out in February, I didn’t reorder, stupidly thinking I’d try another supplement with less powder to stir into their meals. Within a couple of weeks I started to notice an increase in stiffness and lameness, a return of the itching and a decline in my wolfhound x’s gut health and general demeanor. I knew then that the improvements were definitely not just a coincidence and put both girls straight back on it and they improved again in no time.
