Stance Equitec Team Jum Jum Spirit is based at Anstead in the western suburbs of Brisbane.

The team is Jum Jum Spirit and a new member Moondarra El Diron (Ronnie) Our team competes mainly in the south east corner of Qld and the NSW northern rivers area.

Our main event of the year is the Tom Quilty which is held in a different state each year. Jum Jum Spirit with his rider Virginia Dale and strappers Margaret Fisher, Tim Kempton, Helen Plunkett and Veronica Plunkett have travelled to both Wiseman’s Ferry north of Sydney NSW in 2015 and Lexton Victoria in 2016 to compete and successfully complete the Tom Quilty - 100 miles in one day. Unfortunately, Jum Jum Spirit tested positive to Ross River Fever this year and was too ill to train nor compete in South Australia’s Tom Quilty. The endurance season has finished for the year as the heat of summer takes hold. Jum Jum Spirit is well enough now to start slow controlled training for Tasmania’s Tom Quilty to be held in October 2018. Moondarra El Diron will work toward qualifying as an open endurance horse by successfully completing 2x 40km and 3 x 80km rides. The usual training regime for these two endurance horses will be up at 4am to hit the trails. The prediction of a hot summer will see us up the bush with our headlight on at all hours of the night to escape the heat and raise our fitness.

Our immediate goals are to ensure that Jum Jum Spirit is sound and fit enough to continue his endurance career after the RRV and aim for Tasmania and for Moondarra El Diron - to qualify next so that he too can compete at a Tom Quilty in the future.
